Morning 3sEast Columbia Preschool offers a three-day morning class for students turning 3 by December 31, 2025. The class meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 11:45 am. Morning 3s Fast Facts Family Participation in Morning 3s Morning 3s provides families with a traditional cooperative preschool experience, offering both in-class and out-of-class opportunities for involvement. Families participate in the classroom as the Co-Op from 8:30–11:45 a.m. and as the Set-Up Person (SUP) from 8:30–9:00 a.m. on a rotating basis. Families work with the class coordinator to schedule the Co-Op and SUP assignments to accommodate personal schedules. In addition to classroom participation, Morning 3s families contribute to the preschool’s operations by serving on a school committee or the Executive Board. Families not serving on the Executive Board are required to volunteer at one of ECP’s two main fundraising events and complete one housekeeping session per year for each child enrolled. Afternoon 4sOur Afternoon 4s program offers a more flexible version of the cooperative model: co-op participation is optional, but families help clean up the classroom on a rotating basis as the Clean Up Helper. Students in the Afternoon 4s are ready for more time in the school setting – four afternoons a week. Families may sign up for our Lunch Bunch option to extend the school day and prepare students for the experience of eating with their peers in Elementary School. Afternoon 4s Fast Facts Family Participation in Afternoon 4s Afternoon 4s offers families a more flexible cooperative preschool experience. Unlike the traditional co-op model, classroom volunteering is optional and therefore no background check is required for adults. Families instead support the school outside the classroom in several ways and help put away and clean up the classroom on a rotating basis (a half-hour commitment after school approximately once a month). Families work with the Class Coordinator to schedule these Clean Up Person (CUP) opportunities to accommodate personal schedules.
